On-Site Overhead Crane Training Across the UK

AITT-accredited overhead crane training for UK businesses

Overhead cranes — electric overhead travelling cranes (EOTC), gantry and jib cranes — do the heavy lifting in fabrication shops, steel stockholders and engineering plants across the UK. Safe operation is only half the job: correct slinging and load control are where most incidents start, which is why combined crane-and-slinger training is so valuable.

Our nationwide network of fully insured, AITT-accredited instructors and examiners brings overhead crane training directly to your site. Operators train on your own equipment, in the environment they actually work in, to full HSE L117 and PUWER standards.

We fit training around your operation — days, shifts or weekends — with transparent daily rates, no hidden charges and a free same-day quote.

Alongside this course we provide counterbalance forklift training, reach truck training, telehandler training, Teletruk training and more — each available as novice, experienced, conversion, refresher training. Whether you’re looking for a forklift licence or searching for AITT forklift training, our instructors can help.

Overhead Crane explained

What is overhead crane (EOTC) training — and who needs it?

Our overhead crane courses cover pre-use checks, controls and travel, load assessment, and — critically — slinging: selecting chains, slings and shackles, estimating weights and centres of gravity, attaching loads correctly and directing lifts with standard signals. Training is delivered on your own crane, with your own lifting tackle, in your real working bays.

Under LOLER, PUWER and the Health and Safety at Work Act, crane operators and slingers must be competent and trained, with records the employer can produce. We deliver accredited novice, experienced, refresher and combined crane & slinger courses at your premises, anywhere in the UK.

Is your team legally covered?
If an operator can’t show valid, in-date certification, your business may not be compliant. We’ll help you close that gap quickly with on-site training across the UK.
