On-Site Forklift Theory Test Practice Across the UK

AITT-accredited forklift theory test practice for UK businesses

Every accredited forklift course includes a theory test alongside the practical assessment — and it’s the part that worries delegates most. The good news: the theory is learnable, the format is predictable, and with the right preparation almost everyone passes. This page explains what the test covers and how our courses build the knowledge in.

Our nationwide network of fully insured, AITT-accredited instructors and examiners brings forklift theory test practice directly to your site. Operators train on your own equipment, in the environment they actually work in, to full HSE L117 and PUWER standards.

We fit training around your operation — days, shifts or weekends — with transparent daily rates, no hidden charges and a free same-day quote.

Alongside this course we provide counterbalance forklift training, reach truck training, telehandler training, Teletruk training and more — each available as novice, experienced, conversion, refresher training. Whether you’re looking for a forklift licence or searching for AITT forklift training, our instructors can help.

Forklift Theory explained

What's in the forklift theory test — and how do you prepare?

The operator theory test covers the principles behind safe operation: why trucks tip (stability triangle, load centres and capacity), pre-use inspection requirements, safe travel rules, pedestrian segregation, refuelling or charging safety, and the operator’s legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act, PUWER and HSE L117. Questions are typically multiple-choice with some open answers, taken during the course.

Our instructors teach the theory as part of every novice, experienced, conversion and refresher course — with clear explanations, practice questions and revision before the test, so delegates walk in prepared. Training and testing happen together at your premises, and successful delegates receive AITT-accredited certification covering both theory and practical.

Is your team legally covered?
If an operator can’t show valid, in-date certification, your business may not be compliant. We’ll help you close that gap quickly with on-site training across the UK.
