AITT-accredited counterbalance forklift refresher training for UK businesses
Counterbalance trucks are so familiar that complacency is their biggest risk. HSE L117 recommends refresher training at regular intervals — typically every 3–5 years — and sooner after an incident, a change of truck or attachment, or an extended break. A one-day counterbalance refresher renews safe habits and keeps your certificates, records and insurance position watertight.
MHE Train & Test delivers counterbalance forklift refresher training through a nationwide network of fully insured, AITT-accredited instructors and examiners. We come to your premises and train on your own equipment, in your real working environment — fully in line with HSE L117 and PUWER.
Courses are scheduled around your shifts and busy periods, with transparent daily-rate pricing and no hidden charges — and a free, same-day quote whenever you’re ready.
Alongside this course we provide counterbalance forklift training, reach truck training, telehandler training, Teletruk training and more — each available as novice, experienced, conversion, refresher training. Whether you’re looking for a forklift licence or searching for AITT forklift training, our instructors can help.

When is counterbalance refresher training needed?
The refresher re-assesses everything that matters day to day on a counterbalance: pre-shift checks, safe travel laden and unladen, ramp work, stacking at height, pedestrian segregation and vehicle loading. Instructors correct drifted technique on the spot, on your own truck, in your own working environment.
Successful operators leave with a renewed AITT-accredited certificate, and you get the documented evidence of ongoing training that L117 expects employers to hold. Delivered at your premises, anywhere in the UK, with minimal disruption to the shift.
Is your team legally covered?
If an operator can’t show valid, in-date certification, your business may not be compliant. We’ll help you close that gap quickly with on-site training across the UK.
