AITT-accredited novice forklift training for UK businesses
Everyone starts somewhere. Novice forklift training takes a complete beginner — no experience required — and builds a safe, confident, certificated operator from the ground up. Over typically 3–5 days, we combine structured theory with extensive practical driving until the operator can pass the associated tests and work legally under HSE L117.
Our nationwide network of fully insured, AITT-accredited instructors and examiners brings novice forklift training directly to your site. Operators train on your own equipment, in the environment they actually work in, to full HSE L117 and PUWER standards.
We fit training around your operation — days, shifts or weekends — with transparent daily rates, no hidden charges and a free same-day quote.
Alongside this course we provide counterbalance forklift training, reach truck training, telehandler training, Teletruk training and more — each available as novice, experienced, conversion, refresher training. Whether you’re looking for a forklift licence or searching for AITT forklift training, our instructors can help.

What does novice forklift training involve?
A novice course covers everything from first principles: how a lift truck works and why it tips, pre-use inspections, safe travel laden and unladen, hydraulics and controls, stacking and de-stacking at height, working around pedestrians and loading vehicles. Theory is tested alongside a practical driving assessment, both to national standards.
Training is delivered on your own truck at your premises — counterbalance, reach truck, telehandler or Teletruk — so new operators learn in the exact environment they’ll work in. Successful delegates receive AITT-accredited operator certification recognised UK-wide.
Is your team legally covered?
If an operator can’t show valid, in-date certification, your business may not be compliant. We’ll help you close that gap quickly with on-site training across the UK.
